I am now part of the Committee as of the 28th

At the AGM on the 28th of March i was voted on to the committee, the AGM was a quick one as they only had the hall for 2 hours with about 50 in attendance. Change of Chair-person and Sectary and all the rest staying the same.

1st April down on the plot first time out with the ryobi and the fuel lines have perished so up to the shop to see what they have and Tony managed to find some tubing that got me out of trouble. Daryl dragged out an old Briggs and stratton rotovator and we failed to get it started but im sure we will have another go at it before long.

Some digging and more path edges then home to sow some seeds in the green house.

March 25th another nice day

Got to the plot and my new neighbour was there with a friend they didn't stop talking hahahah. They done about half hours work then left i was digging and uncovering ground ready for planting in the next few weeks. I put up a frame for beans but Tina dont like it so its coming down hahaha. Another nice day on the plot.

Tina's Birthday 23rd

Another super day weather wise, managed to get to the plot to plant up her new plum tree and moved around some of the other fruit so we can cage them in the next few visits. Put in another row of second early spuds and covered some more ground with mypex.

All go at the plot

Well what a day at the plot today fires and dead Hedgehogs, other than that its all good. Helped my da with some repairs to his shed and i managed to sow some carrots, get a new fence up and tidy that little area that get's all the junk. Nice day quite warm with lots of sunshine.

Saturday 19th March on the plot

Weather was fine cold first thing with heavy frost,more ground uncovered from the winter and dug over with in no time at all, fruit tree's look like there about to come alive and a pond full of spawn things are looking good.

2011 starting up the dairy again

Plot looking like a mess at the start of the season due to being covered with all sorts of plastic and mypex sheeting to help me get a head start on 2011. Got some of the larger areas dug and covered and ready to go already.

Now we have 4 apple and a cherry tree that need some sort of protection and a good mix of fruit bushes so looking forward to a few fruit pies this year.

Got some bits started even tho some might say its a bit early, our Cucumber's are growing well the onion's are storming away and pea's are looking good in there pots.

Tomato's are on the window sill in the kitchen there ok but looking sorry for them selfs at the moment.

Had a great morning at the plot today , got loads done. Hada good clear about and even done some digging of bramlbe roots. Move the compost from one bin to the next got some of the logs shifted from the tree cutting in the week. Then when i got ome done some seeds in the greenhouse in the garden. All in all a good day.

Sowing's first of many

Me and the little lad started some bits this morning while the better half was in bed. We have sown so pepper's Aubergine's and Tomato all in a nice little window box then we went down to the plot for some much needed digging it was to wet really but still managed to get 3 beds dug over. We came away with curly Kale, swede, leeks and some turnips so all in all a good day. Missed the plot so much is was nice to get back out there. Even tho i arrived to the news of 23 sheds had been broken into in the last 48 hours.

Went shopping for seed potato's yesterday got 3 kg of Rocket,3kg of Pentland Javelin and 3kg of Maris peers some mulch mats and plant label's. Went through the seed packets that we have here and i can start some cauliflower aubergine and might try some chillies.

also popped to the plot and there is some cabbages ready by the looks of thing we need to tidy up after the winter bashings but it wont be to hard after last year.

Going to try and keep things on track this year with the blog, looking forward to making a start down on the plots. My Mother in-law has asked if she can use part on my plot so will make for some easy work as she will be great at weeding.

We really have taken over our corner of the site there's Me Tina and the Children, Dad (real one) and now the In-laws My Dad has 46 a/b next to us so a real family thing going on down there right now and a really good mate on 45a from work. Lucky we all have different days of work so things should not get mad down there.

Will post some pics of my tree cutting in the next few weeks as i want to get more sunshine on the plot this year.

Went to the plot today picked some Red cabbage, spring onions, turnips, swede and kale. Its looking very bleak down there right now we hate the winter.

Not much been going no at the plot, due to not having a car as it blew up on the motor way.
Popped down to do some weeding for an hour and had a bit of a clean up.

Making a start on my blog

Back from my holidays and weeds are every where, Been to the plot this weekend and weeded most of plot 40. Picked some veggies for the table Beetroot,Turnips,Swede,Onions, Cauliflower and Spring Onions. There are quite a few runner beans on the vine readt for next years seeds.

Planted up some lettuce for the Greenhouse not sure how this will work but will give it a try.
